MAT SMALLWOOD

COMMUNITY SUPPORT MANAGER

I have a nephew and a son with Autism and ADHD, and noticed the need for more males to be involved in this sector. I felt that I owed it to my family to do more.  I have a caring and calm nature, lots of patience and take the time to fully understand the needs of those I care for.

I have a Cert IV in Disability Services and a Business Degree. I love spending time with my family, friends and dog Jet.

‘I have a passion to help the most vulnerable members of the community and to raise the quality of service of people with a disability.’

For over twenty years I have been working with the most vulnerable people in our community with their mental and physical health.  I had the privilege of working alongside some of the most high profile community care teams.

The knowledge and experience I gained, gave me the foundation for a high standard of practice within my own company Assistium in the United Kingdom.

Due to the success of Assistium in the UK, Assistium Plus was born in Australia.

DEANNE PILTON

I have dedicated most of my working life to caring for children in a home setting, quite a few of these children had various disabilities.  I'm also a wife and mother of 2, my eldest with complex ASD.

Being involved with the NDIS since its introduction here in WA I've witnessed first hand how services need to be delivered to participants and how relationships between services and clients need to be developed and nurtured so that the client can have the best possible experience.

On most weekends  I volunteer on a local, state and national level as an official for BMX racing which my youngest child absolutely loves.
